The thousand year guard
In the end I think I spent around 80 hours on this painting and I learned so much during this piece.

Only the most valiant and resilient knights were acknowledged to the thousand year guard to protect the beating heart of our living city. Armour of the guards keep them alive, they don't need to eat nor sleep. The guards were promised enough wealth for their family and families after them as long as the guard successfully protects the heart. As tradition, near the end of the guard an artist paints portrait of the guard in painstaking detail as possible.
